Today we hiked in Sawanee. We started at the cross and then came back to where we started. We hiked 5.8 miles in a little over 3 hours. Click here to view photos from the hike. Click here to view a track of our hike. This part was a little challenging. Today we hiked the Land Trust Loop on the Huntsville Land Trust property located on Monte Sano Mountain. We hiked 5.3 miles in about 3 hours. The loop consists of three different trails. From the pavilion head south on the Bluff Line Trail. At the Water Line Trail head east. At the end of the Water Line Trail visit the Three Caves Quarry (this is a good place to take a cool break). Then head north on the Alms House Trail back to the trail head. The Water Line Trail is very strenuous and steep with lots of loose rock and dirt (see photos in the album). Don’t attempt it unless you are in good shape. Click here to view photos from the hike.
